Smoothie-licious Recipe

Today I want to share with you one of my favourite smoothie-licious recipes. One of the important components of living a healthy feel good lifestyle is to ensure you are nourishing your body with healthy foods.

Smoothies are a great way to consume fruits, vegetables and superfoods. If you are finding it difficult to eat fruits and vegetables then blending them in a smoothie and consuming it as a drink can be a easier then sitting and eating a entire bowl of vegetables. Today’s smoothie-licious recipe is a banana, goji berry, walnut, chia smoothie. Loads of good stuff in there. So, this is how you make it.

The ingredients you will need are as follows;

– 1 banana
– 2 tsp Goji Berries
– 2 tsp chia
– 2 tsp crushed walnuts
– Sprinkle of cinnamon
– 2 x ice cubes
– 1/2 – 1 cup water

* Other optional ingredients may include: Vanilla protein powder, honey or peanut butter.
Instead of water, you could use almond milk.

How to make the smoothie?

I use a Spectablend blender, it is fantastic for making smoothies and blends the ice giving the smoothie a nice thick consistency.

1. Pour the water and ice cubes into the blender
2. Add banana, goji berries, chia and crushed walnuts
3. Then blend all the ingredients until the smoothie consistency, pour the smoothie in a glass, then sprinkle the goji berries, walnuts and chia seeds on the top.

*Optional: You can always add more of any ingredient that you like for extra flavour such as more goji berries or banana.
